What are the symptoms of COVID-19?

The symptoms to watch out for are:

  • fever

  • chills or sweats

  • cough

  • sore throat

  • headaches

  • nausea

  • vomiting

  • diarrhoea

  • muscle soreness

  • shortness of breath

  • runny or stuffy nose

  • loss or change in sense of smell or taste.

If you have any of these symptoms, however mild, you should get tested and isolate.

Most people with Covid-19 are likely to only experience mild symptoms and recover without requiring special treatment or hospitalization, especially if fully vaccinated.

If your symptoms are mild or manageable, keep managing COVID at home. Ask your family to keep track, too - but remember to stay isolated.

If they start to get worse, you should call reception or the Nurse On Call on 1300 606 024 (available 24/7) or call the number provided to you by your care pathway or local health service.

If they get seriously worse (especially if it happens very suddenly), or you feel like it’s an emergency, then call triple zero (000) or go straight to hospital. Make sure you tell them you have COVID-19.
