Consultation fee update: from 10th August 2026 our consultation fees will increase.
At Surrey Hills Medical Centre, our independent doctors are committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centred healthcare.
Following the recent increase to Medicare rebates, we have reviewed our consultation fees to ensure they continue to reflect the rising costs of delivering high quality medical care. These costs include maintaining and investing in modern equipment and technology, providing administrative and nursing staff and supporting the doctors to spend the time needed with each patient.
Medicare rebates will continue to apply to eligible consultations; however, the out-of-pocket cost for most appointments will change.
Your doctor will continue to provide a reduced rate for children under 16 years of age, full time students under 25 years of age, pensioners, concession and health care card holders.
Your doctor remains committed to offering exceptional care and are here to assist you with any concerns you may have. If you’re facing financial difficulties, please let your doctor know.
Please remember that fees are at the discretion of your individual doctor. These fees may vary for different doctors but the below is a general guide of the fees generally charged by the independent doctors we support.
Thank you for your understanding and continued trust in your doctor’s care.
If you have any questions, please speak with our reception team or your doctor.

Your doctor will always explain any additional costs to you and obtain your consent prior to any treatment received.
The doctors we support at Surrey Hills Medical Centre no longer directly invoice Work Safe Insurance Companies, employers or TAC for their patients treatment. You should be aware that the cost of treatment with your doctor may be in excess of the amount Work Safe or TAC reimburse.
You will be asked to settle your account at the time of your treatment. Your Medicare rebate can be processed and deposited into your account at the time of payment.
Please notify reception or your doctor if you have had a surgical procedure recently as this can affect Medicare claiming.
